Krishna Limb – Serving Disabled Animals

This is a project supported and funded by PEN to serve those animals who lose their limbs by installing Krishna Prosthetic Limb.

An award-winning innovation now is widely known across all parts of India and the globe is offering guidance for the caretaking of animals with disabilities and enhance awareness about the issue of animal disability at large. The vet who has pioneered this work is now dedicating his time to attending to animals of individual owners and spreading awareness about empathy as a key-value of human life.

This project is a peep into the human psyche and a mission to help create an environment where the human and animal world co-exists harmoniously.

At the core of this work is acceptance of our interdependence and mutual care while mending our own ways of living through a better understanding of lives that can not express the way we do. We need to understand the language of silence and lessen the pain which the animals have to bear because of human negligence.

In this new-normal, we know that Gandhian values shall sail us through all crises and our culture will be judged on the parameter of how we treat the less advantaged and the animals. This project undertakes to offer the dignity of life to disabled animals and protect their right to live with external support when natural mobility is restricted for any reason.
